So what makes Slow Anime unique?
- Opinions and analysis of the anime and the industry as a whole
- Broad tastes/interests, so you’ll see both old and new anime featured
- More than just another review site
I picked the name “slow anime” because I am always too slow to keep up with the newest airing anime and events. This will not likely be a good place for anime news updates or discussion of the newest episode this week.
The goal of this website is to provide and outlet for broad anime discussion, reviews, and insights. One of the benefits of not focusing on the newest anime is that much of this content should be “evergreen”, meaning that it’s relevant regardless of when you are reading it.
What you won’t see much of:
- “Winter 201x first impressions” type of posts
- “<insert currently airing anime title> Episode 15” type of posts
- Reviewing anime for the sake of reviewing anime
I was fairly hesitant to even try creating a website in such a crowded field, but I feel like there is still room for a website that isn’t just the newest news or the oldest nostalgic anime. In the end, I just want to publish content that I would enjoy reading.
About the Staff
Dave – Editor In Chief
I’m still trying to find a balance between anime and working full time with a wife and two kids at home. I recently started the whole Tokyo “salaryman” thing, so it’ll be interesting to see how I balance my time going forward. I never followed the North American anime scene much when I lived there and I guess I’ll be even less in-touch now that I don’t. Since moving back to Japan, I’ve been rediscovering my interest in the Japanese language, so don’t be surprised if you see some language-related posts in the future.

Likes almost every anime even shitty ones. Really enjoys manga, light novels, and jRPGs. Aspiring mad and evil scientist.
“I’m not an otaku!”
Helps out with site maintenance stuff. Will eventually write something (probably).
